Who We Are
Prayer and Action (PandA) of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas is a service retreat ministry that provides our teens the unique opportunity to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church while serving the local communities of northeast Kansas.

Service Impact
Even though we are pretty dang phenomenal at fixing up houses and other properties, that’s not all we do. PandA is about touching hearts and loving others by entering into their lives and sharing the love of Christ with each and every person we encounter.

With an average of 200-300 teens serving each summer, well over 1500 teens total have served our local communities.

Why We Exist
Today, the young people of our Church are hungrier than ever to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ—and PandA provides them the opportunity to do just that.
+ To Serve our neighbor
We give because Christ first gave to us, and He continues to give to us at each and every waking moment of our existence. It’s in our blood as Christians to give and to serve, and authentically loving our neighbor as ourself entails this self-gift of time and energy.
+ To experience authentic Community
By living a week of distraction-free life devoted to service and worship, we are drawn into deeper relationship with one another. With the help of small groups and large group talks, we are invited into a state of deeper friendship with one another and the Lord.

Service flows from prayer. PandA isn’t only about serving our neighbor, it’s about encountering the Risen Lord in Adoration, Praise and Worship, by participating in the heavenly reality of Mass and receiving His mercy in the Sacrament of Penance.

By nature of our Baptism we are called to live a life of mission. PandA exists to awaken our young people to this reality, and to help form them in such a way that they know the Lord’s voice and have the courage to continually respond to His promptings for building His Church here on earth.
