What is Prayer and Action?

Prayer and Action (PandA) is a mission trip program founded through the Diocese of Salina, Kansas. The idea was formed by seminarians who wanted to offer a low cost mission trip experience and serve the people in their own communities.

By reaching out to the parishes of our host community, we are able to locate and provide for those in need. This is done by the laboring hands and the open hearts of high school students and their adult leaders.

The most important aspect of Prayer & Action is the evangelization and inspiration of the youth, which is the fruit of their prayer and labor.

Praise the Lord.

We Pray

Any and all service that we do at PandA flows from the font of prayer. Our teens are immersed in praise and worship, Adoration, the Mass, Rosary, Liturgy of the Hours, small group prayer, as well as silent reflection.

Love your neighbor.

We Serve

PandA sessions last five days, with students arriving on Sunday evening and staying until Friday morning. Throughout the week the students will paint, clean, do yard work, and perform other meaningful tasks for the poor, disabled, and elderly.

Our Mission Teams

Each week of PandA is facilitated by a mission team which consists of seminarians and other dynamic young adults. This team and the parish adult leaders will be with the students at the worksites, working side-by-side with them. And sometimes our mission teams drive down dirt roads right after it rains.
